One of the greater challenges to Gnosticism is the apparent absence of our cosmology throughout canonized scripture. Omitted are the tales of archons leading the Anthropos about by the nose, an imperfect craftsman howling into the abyss, "There was nothing before me", and the rebuke of a holy mother, whose name is Greek for "Wisdom", defies such a decree.
Yet, the truth of the matter slipped through the cracks in a collection of seven texts, spread across canon and apocrypha alike, called the Wisdom Books. This is blatant in Proverbs, where Solomon explains the Wisdom learned in his Father's House - to gain wisdom (chokmah) and understanding (binah) and to hold on to it once he leaves, alludes to a very certain capital F Father's house.
Then there she stands, at crossroads and city gates before we cross the threshold into the abyss of distraction and error that Solomon saw fit to warn us about. Here she explains, she predates creation and knows it quite well - and invites all to hear everything she might say, with a special place in her heart for those who do not "know".
Here we may observe, Sophia held us close before and during the marvel of incarnation. She was never absent, and never silent; she beckoned at us, through the noise and sights of the horrors of creation - and we would not see or hear her.
